Check out this brief Canada travel guide and my blog posts at the bottom.

Canada uses Canadian dollars as its currency (Check out xe.com for the most up-to-date currency conversion–they have a mobile app too!)
If you’re planning to spend less than 180 days in Canada, you can get by using just your U.S. passport–no Visa required. (Except for all that maple syrup you’re planning on buying, ba-dum-tshh!) Your passport must be valid at the time of your entry into Canada.
And yes, you need a passport to visit Canada from the United States. Yes, even if you’re driving.
Most of Canada speak English as their main language, except for the province of Québec which is strictly a French-speaking region.
For booking accommodation in France, I recommend reading hotel reviews on Tripadvisor, then booking your room through Booking.com (my favorite booking site).
And don’t forget, there’s always vacation rentals. Check out some of Canada’s vacation rentals here!
In Quebec City:
– Chateau Frontenac (the castle-looking hotel at the top of this page)
– Hôtel le Concorde
– Hôtel Manoir de l’Esplanade
For your trip to Canada, you’ll want to pack the following:
– Canada guidebook: I prefer Rough Guides and Fodor’s, but you can also find one from Lonely Planet. I also really like these culture-centered guidebooks from Culture Smart!.
– Travel insurance. Unfortunately, things can and do go wrong when you travel. World Nomads offers coverage for more than 150 activities as well as emergency medical, lost luggage, trip cancellation and more.
Below you’ll find my posts that focus on the awesome country of Canada — all the way from cool hotels, delicious restaurants, outdoor adventures, and more.
Thanks for Visiting!
