In Norway the currency is Norwegian Krones (Check out xe.com for the most up-to-date currency conversion–they have a mobile app too!)
Norway falls into the Central European Time, also known as GMT +2
If you’re planning to spend less than 90 days in Norway/the Schengen area, you can get by using just your U.S. passport–no Visa required.
However, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you leave the Schengen area.
The most widely spoken in language in Norway is, you guessed it, Norwegian.
The capital city of Oslo is worth the visit alone, but though Norway may be way up there it’s packing tourism destinations out the wazoo.

And don’t forget, there’s always vacation rentals.Check out some of Norway’s beautiful vacation rentals here!

For your trip to Norway, you’ll want to pack the following:
– Norway guidebook: I prefer Rough Guides, but you can also find one from Rick Steves and Lonely Planet. Also check out this culture-centric guide from Culture Smart!
– Travel insurance. Unfortunately, things can and do go wrong when you travel. World Nomads offers coverage for more than 150 activities as well as emergency medical, lost luggage, trip cancellation and more.
On this page you’ll find all my articles on Norway… which at this time is just one lonely post.
I’m happy to answer questions about my time there in lieu of writing more blog posts on the subject but, in the meantime, check out this post that outlines how you can spend 24 hours in Oslo and see SO MUCH.
Thanks for Visiting!
