Europe Travel Guide & Archives
Europe ranks as the most-visited continent for travel which is really no surprise. Besides the endless list of beautiful places to go and world famous sights to see, traveling around Europe is simple, affordable, and really fun.
Check out this brief Europe travel guide and all my Europe-focused blog posts at the bottom.

The majority of European countries utilize the euro. However many still use their very own currency–examples would be the Czech Republic, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Norway, and many more.
(Check out xe.com for the most up-to-date currency conversion–they have a mobile app too!)
If you’re planning to spend less than 90 days in the Schengen area, you can get by using just your U.S. passport–no Visa required. However, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you leave the Schengen area.
Check to see if the country or countries you’re planning to visit are within the Schengen area. Otherwise, check the visa/passport requirements of each individual country as they may vary.
Europe has an endless list of amazing travel destinations but some are far more world famous then others. According to U.S. News, the top 10 European travel destinations are:
1. Rome
2. London
3. Paris
4. Florence
5. Barcelona
6. Amsterdam
7. Prague
8. Santorini
9. Amalfi Coast
10. Venice
Regardless of where in Europe you’ll be visiting, you will have your choice of almost any kind of accommodation: hotels, hostels, Alpine chalets, glass bubbles, beach cottages, resorts, you name it.
When you decide where in Europe you want to visit, I recommend reading hotel reviews on Tripadvisor, then booking your room through Booking.com (my favorite booking site).
And don’t forget, there’s always vacation rentals. Check out rental listings in your favorite European city here!
For your trip to Europe, you’ll want to pack the following:
– Europe guidebook: If you’re visiting many countries in Europe, one solid European guidebook is great. Otherwise, look for individual country-centric guidebooks. My favorite brands are Rick Steves, Rough Guides, and Fodor’s.
– Travel insurance. Unfortunately, things can and do go wrong when you travel. World Nomads offers coverage for more than 150 activities as well as emergency medical, lost luggage, trip cancellation and more.
Below you’ll find all my posts that focus on countries in Europe — all the way from what to pack, survival guides, and some of the best trips you can take.
If you’d like to narrow your search down to a particular country, head over to the destinations page and browse away.
Thanks for Visiting!
