This Czech Republic travel guide will show you how it is known to travelers for many things: romantic, medieval Prague, red rooftops and tasty trdelník, Bohemian villages, and for being the country that consumes the most beer per capita–aka–my kinda people.
Prague is by far the most populous and the most popular city in the Czech Republic. Not far from Prague you also have Ostrava, Kutná Hora (known for its famous “bone church“), Brno, Plzen (the birthplace of pilsner), Karlovy Vary, and Cesky Krumlov.

The Czech Republic uses Czech koruna (Check out xe.com for the most up-to-date currency conversion–they have a mobile app too!)

What are the Czech Republic’s visa/passport requirements?
If you’re planning to spend less than 90 days in the Czech Republic/the Schengen area, you can get by using just your U.S. passport–no Visa required. (Except for all those pilsners you’re planning on buying, ba-dum-tshh!)
However, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you leave the Schengen area.
What language do they speak in the Czech Republic?
In the Czech Republic they speak Czech. And it’s a doozy.
Where to stay in the Czech Republic
Regardless of where in the Czech Republic you’ll be visiting, there will be hotels and hostels ready and willing to put you up.
The capital city of Prague is worth the visit alone but, though the Czech Republic is small, it’s packing tourism destinations out the wazoo.
After you decide where in the Czech Republic you want to visit, I recommend reading hotel reviews on Tripadvisor, then booking your room through Booking.com (my favorite booking site).
