My Beer Spa Orlando is the newest—and really, the most authentic—Czech-style beer spa in the U.S. This post will show you exactly what it’s like and what you can expect during a visit, and give you my honest review, a list of helpful tips, and all the Orlando beer spa info you need to know.

Rub-a-dub-dub, just drinking in a tub

Ever since my first visit to a Prague beer spa in 2016, I have been a fan of beer spas and the whole concept in general. But, true European-style beer spas in the U.S. are virtually and quite unfortunately nonexistent.

So, when I discovered a new beer spa had just opened in Orlando, Florida (where I visit a couple of times each year), I was SO PUMPED! I could not have booked my reservation any faster actually. From what I had seen, My Beer Spa looked fantastic and I couldn’t wait to see how it compared to the ones in Prague.

I’ve made the Orlando beer spa #1 on my list of fun things to do in Orlando (for adults) that aren’t theme parks. Click that link for many more great ideas!

What is a beer spa?

Basically, a beer spa is a super unique opportunity to soak in a hot bath of beer ingredients while drinking beer at the same time. But it’s so much more than that too! There are saunas and straw beds, good snacks, relaxation, a fireplace, hilarity, and more.

In short, beer spas are an homage to beer. It’s a unique avenue for surrendering your mind, body, and mouth to the glory of beer. You’ll soak it in, drink it in, and take selfies next to cute little signs that remind you that your life is better with beer in it. (Don’t believe me? Check out the ode to beer I once wrote.)

While you’re in Orlando, be sure to pick up the free Florida toll pass for visitors that the rental car companies aren’t telling you about! How to get it + all the details, in that link.

What’s in the beer spa?

You’ll spend up to an hour soaking in a hot tub filled, not with actual beer, but with beer ingredients: hops, malt, yeast, and of course water.

This combination of ingredients is believed to have many positive benefits for the body and skin like:

  • Smoother, softer skin
  • Treatment of cellulite, acne, and psoriasis
  • Relaxed muscles
  • Stimulated metabolism
  • Increased cardiovascular activity
  • And, ironically, detoxification of your body
I’m ready for fermentation

Whether this is scientifically accurate or not is up for debate—I myself am skeptical—but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to be one hell of a good time.

Yes, your skin will be softer and your muscles (and your mind) will be more relaxed. You’ll have increased cardiovascular activity from all the laughing and fun. But, as I said in my interview with Playboy on beer spas, that’s pretty much what you’d expect from any ol’ hot tub experience, right?

Regardless, I don’t think anyone is signing up for the beer spa in hopes of curing his/her adult acne. We all know only selling your soul to the devil will clear that up.

What do you drink at the beer spa?

One continuity among all beer spas is that you’ll have access to unlimited quantities of actual drinkable beer while you soak in the tub.

At My Beer Spa Orlando, you get even more! Here you’ll have the choice of three different local beers and two wines (one red, one white). There is a tap right next to your tub where you can fill up with whatever you want, as many times as you want/can.

My Beer Spa Orlando

After visiting the beer spa in Prague and being so inspired by it, the owners of My Beer Spa knew they needed to open such a spa in Orlando—a city world famous for being the home of non-stop fun and quirky adventure.

This Orlando beer spa experience is very similar to the one in Prague, but one of higher quality and better attention to detail. (Translation: spa attendants won’t bust in on you while you’re changing and there’s less of a chance you’ll gravely injure yourself here due to their negligence.)

My Beer Spa offers visitors three different kinds of beer but also serves wine. So, if you’re interested in visiting the Orlando beer spa but you don’t drink beer – you’re in luck! My Beer Spa is also conveniently located on International Drive.

What a visit to My Beer Spa Orlando includes

When you book a visit to My Beer Spa, your visit will include the following:

  • Welcome drinks in the lobby while final preparations are made to your spa room
  • A leisurely hour in the beer spa which includes the beer bath, private infrared sauna, cool down on the relaxing straw bed
  • Unlimited beer and wine (+ bottled water)
  • Homemade beer bread with pretzels and mustard
  • The use of towels, robes, and sheets
  • Full private bathroom and shower with hair dryer
  • Use of their TV/sound system – plug in your phone and play whatever tunes you want, change to your preferred channel, etc.
  • Use of a bag to carry your stuff in since you can’t bring your own (+ use of a locker)

My Beer Spa’s recommended treatment

Trying to fit all that in in under an hour looks overwhelming but the whole thing runs quite smoothly. My Beer Spa recommends the following treatment schedule during your visit:

  • 30-40 minutes in the actual beer bath, drinking as much beer (or wine) as you like and munching on the snacks
  • 10 minutes in the infrared sauna (don’t forget to hydrate!)
  • And the rest of your time relaxing on the straw bed in the cooling corner

What kind of beer is offered at My Beer Spa Orlando?

My Beer Spa serves three beers from Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. which just so happens to be my favorite Orlando brewery. You have the choice of: Bungalow Belgian Witbier (my favorite), Park Hopper Golden Pilsner, and Joyland American IPA.

You’ll get a full run-down on the different beer options when you arrive and can read more about the beers from the information provided in your room.

What kind of wine is offered at My Beer Spa Orlando?

You’ll have the choice of two organic* wines – one white (pinot grigio) and one red (cabernet sauvignon). *The winery has just about fulfilled its 5-year requirement to be considered organic. It’s almost there.

I personally did not have any wine while I was there and can’t even fathom drinking wine in a hot tub, but I know plenty of people who can dig it!

Tips for your Orlando Beer Spa experience

Since this is probably the kind of spa you have never visited before and because it is quite different from the norm, there are a few specific things you’ll need to know.

Bring just the minimum

For starters, bring just the minimum into the spa with you. They do not allow you to bring backpacks or purses (etc) into the spa rooms with you – but will provide you with one of their bags with which to carry your essentials.

They also have lockers there you can use for free if leaving your stuff in your car is not an option. (Like if you Uber’ed there or something) Also, wear flip-flops if you can just to make life a bit easier.

You must make a reservation

Because of the time it takes to prepare the spa rooms and because of the limited availability, it’s highly recommended to make a reservation for your visit. Also, make it as in advance as possible.

As word of this place spreads, these reservations are going to become more and more sought after (and hard to get). Don’t put off booking too long or you may lose your preferred spot! (I waited a full 24 hours before deciding to book and the spot I wanted was already gone.)

Wash your hair

Bring your own shampoo and conditioner to the beer spa with you—at least, if you plan on going out after your visit.

To reap all the benefits of that bodacious beer goodness, you’re advised to not wash your body with soap after your soak. But you might want to wash your hair, especially if you plan to head out for more fun after your spa visit.

Let’s just say, hypothetically, that you forget to wash your hair or neglect to because you’re lazy and because you’re going to the beach tomorrow morning so you don’t see the point… Well, you’ll soon find that your hair will stink. And I mean STINK.

If you’re going home, or to your hotel, or a friend’s house after your visit, it’s fine to wash your hair there. But if you have plans out in public afterwards, be sure to clean your hair ASAP.

Don’t forget to hydrate!

Hot tub + sauna + alcohol = it’s easy to forget to hydrate and you may not feel the effects until later. So please remember to hydrate the entire time you’re at the beer spa. My Beer Spa provides free, cold bottled water—aim to consume it all before you leave.

Have something to store your bathing suit in

My Beer Spa Orlando provides you with plastic bags for your wet bathing suit when you leave, but if you’re flying out of Orlando afterwards (or will otherwise be unable to air it out for a while), you’ll want to make sure you have a sealable bag as well. Just don’t forget about it when you get to your destination!

Why I love the Orlando Beer Spa

I had such a great time at the Orlando beer spa and would absolutely recommend a visit there if you’re looking for something fun and unique to do in Orlando. Here are a few of the things I loved the most about my visit.

I love their timing system

At the beer spa in Prague, they counted down our spa time with a literal egg timer. They set it for one hour and left the room. We had to monitor our own time, the entire time.

At My Beer Spa, they set two timers. One was a digital countdown you can easily watch from anywhere in the room. The other simply had green, yellow, and red lights to show you what phase of the hour you were in.

This is such a more relaxing and intuitive way to know how much time you have left instead of constantly having to check the egg timer.

Their attention to detail is fantastic

Their timing system already shows how detail-oriented they are. But there are also so many more cute details around the place that show they put so much thought into this place.

The fun words and phrases on the walls, the way they’ve set up their lobby, the personalized welcome signs on the doors. They offer to take photos of you before you head into the spa room. They explain all the beer and wine options beforehand. The bags they provide, the robes, the fact that there is a hair dryer in the bathrooms, and everything else provided in the rooms—they have left out nothing.

The owners are so lovely

After my spa, I spent a while hanging out in the lobby and talking to the owners (who had no idea I was a blogger and that I was going to write about this, mwahhaha). They are so incredibly passionate about their beer spa and about providing nothing less than a top-notch experience.

Meeting them was an absolute delight and I feel so happy to be able to help support them in their passion project. And you should feel good about that too!

I love the beer

Ivanhoe Park is one of my favorite Orlando breweries and I love that they offer three different styles. A pilsner, a Belgian white, and an IPA are three very different styles that should appeal to all kinds of beer drinkers. Plus, I love that they’ve decided to support local Orlando brewers.

So fresh, so clean

My Beer Spa Orlando was so incredibly clean, neat, and well-kept. Everything was pristine and you can tell they take great care in keeping it that way.

So fun and unique

Visiting a beer spa is such a fun and unique way to spend some time in Orlando. And a spa day is perfect after a day or two at Disney World or Universal. Actually, it’s pretty damn necessary. I think I’m going to make the beer spa my standard post-Epcot Food and Wine Festival ritual from here on out.
